For some, things go wrong all the time. For some, it’s a cycle… sometimes up… sometimes down. For others, things seem to go right all the time. Why? And can it be changed?
A man I know has testified many times of the power of The Seed Principle in his own life.
During his college years Mark obtained a real estate license, joined a real estate company, and quickly sold no properties. It seemed nothing could go right. No bookings, no sales, no income from a straight commission job. Thankfully, he was living with his parents. He had a place to live, but income (and the cash it provides) was non-existent.
As a young Christian he prayed to the extent of his understanding. He begged God. He pleaded. He threatened God he would stop being involved with the youth group at church. He prayed with crying and sobbing. Still, nothing positive happened. When anyone would ask him how it was going, he would respond, “I don’t have any bookings or sales. Nothing is in the pipeline. It’s bad and it keeps getting worse.”
Finally, out of frustration and desperation, he went into an office, sat at a desk and opened a Bible. When it fell open to Philippians he thought, “Well it’s a short book, I might as well read it.”
Now realize, Mark knew nothing of The Seed Principle, but he was about to experience its power.
As he read he came to Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” As far as he knew he had never read or heard that scripture, but it stuck with him. He continued to read, but he was drawn back to that verse. He read it several times, thought about it some, and read it some more.
Over the next few days he found himself thinking about that verse, over and over again, as he went about his daily tasks. One night, when he was with a group of friends, someone asked him how things were going. He opened his mouth to give his regular answer, and (without thinking) the following came out of his mouth, “My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” He was surprised by his response, and his friend said, “Well, I know the Bible says that, but how are things going?” Mark opened his mouth to respond in his usual manner and the scripture came out again, “My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” After a few more attempts to find out the condition of Mark’s real estate efforts, and getting nothing in response but scripture, the friend walked away.
Mark had unwittingly tapped into a universal principle that produced unintended results from his consistent meditations. The abundance of his heart had changed, and “… out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34)
He didn’t have to force a “right confession”. It came out naturally, from the abundance of his heart. His words had changed, and his environment was about to change… drastically.
Within a couple of days Mark came out of a convenience store and was stopped by a man riding a bicycle. “Don’t you sell real estate?” the man asked. The question was surprising, since Mark had never before seen the man. As it turned out, the man had just moved to town and was starting a new business. He needed to buy a house so his family could be with him. The next day they found a house, put in an offer, and the sale (in time) went through.
From that day on, Mark’s business drastically changed. The “harvest” on his “seed” was bringing forth results in the natural (physical) realm. There were days when he had as many as 5 closings in a day. Business began pouring in.
Nothing in his routine had been altered to produce such a radical change in outcome EXCEPT the time he had spent meditating Philippians 4:19. Through his meditation he had planted and cultivated a crop of “God’s provision”. Once that crop had matured, and had become the “abundance of the heart”, the fruit began to show up in Mark’s business.
And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you — and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. - Mark 4:24 (Amplified)
What seed can you begin planting today to change patterns of failure in YOUR life?
The core principle of this world is Seed time and Harvest. It’s how things work. It’s how you have become who you are. It’s how you can change your future and your destiny.
Seeds will always produce like fruit. Corn produces corn. Fear produces fear. Doubt produces doubt.
This principle supercedes all boundaries. It is as valid in today’s society as it ever was. That is the beauty of Seed Principle.
Any farmer knows this… To get the best crop, use the best seed.
If one expects to harvest anything other than weeds, cultivation is of the highest importance.
The minister must think like a farmer. Take responsibility for the soil in which you plant seed.
In several places, Jesus uses the mustard seed to illustrate Kingdom principles (realities). Unless one thinks like a farmer, one could miss the thrust of Jesus’ illustrations.

Many will tell you that you aren’t in control of your own life. Is that true?
Your part is to plant the seed. God’s part is the increase.

Hey, Bro, nice story. Hard to believe the guy in pic is my fraternity brother from the 70s. OTOH, all I have to do is look in the mirror to see someone I don’t recognize.

Certain things remind me… like when I was asked about the first concert I attended. It was Jimi Hendrix in New Orleans. That pretty much dates me.
